Possible Closure of Northwestern Division Police Station

Dear Santaluz Members and Residents,

We want to alert you to a critical issue that could directly affect the safety, security, and future of our community.

The City of San Diego is considering budget cuts that include the potential closure of the Northwestern Division Police Station—the very station that currently serves Santaluz and its neighboring areas.

If this station is closed, its 40-square-mile coverage area would be absorbed by the Northeastern Division. Although that division is geographically closer, the increased workload could lead to longer emergency response times and reduced police visibility in our neighborhoods.

Why this matters now:
The proposed budget will be presented to the City Council on Monday, April 21. A final vote is expected in May. Decisions are being made quickly, and our community must act now.
