At TheSantaluz.com, we’re committed to keeping residents informed about the latest community news and helpful reminders. As we head into the warmer months, we want to share a few important updates to help keep Santaluz the safe, welcoming place we all love.
Home Security: Stay Alert, Stay Protected
Following previous reminders from the SMA and the San Diego Police Department, residents are encouraged to take simple steps to secure their homes:
- Lock all doors and windows.
- Set lighting timers and activate security systems when possible.
- Place a hold on mail and packages if traveling, and inform trusted neighbors if you’ll be away for several days.
- Avoid posting vacation updates on social media until after you return.
- Keep your Dwelling Live account updated and passwords private.
- Request a complimentary vacation check through your Resident Portal at www.santaluzcommunity.com.
If you notice suspicious or criminal activity, remember to call 9-1-1 first, then notify the North Gate at 858-759-2644 so Safety Patrol can assist.
Pet Safety: A Simple Way to Care for Our Community
As a reminder, all dogs must be kept on a leash while enjoying our beautiful trails and open spaces. At home, pets should be properly secured indoors or within a fenced yard. Small actions like these help keep Santaluz a safe and enjoyable place for everyone — two-legged and four-legged residents alike!
Security Update: Surveillance Camera Installations
We want to share that new 24-hour, motion-activated surveillance cameras are being installed along the Santaluz perimeter in areas identified as vulnerable.
While TheSantaluz.com is not affiliated with the HOA or responsible for this project, we’re happy to help spread the word. Three cameras are already active, with two more to come. The cameras will be clearly marked with signage and blue flashing lights to help deter trespassing and burglary attempts — another layer of protection for our community.
E-Bikes and Electric Vehicles: Ride Smart
We’re seeing more e-bikes and electric vehicles around Santaluz — and it’s wonderful to see everyone out enjoying the outdoors! Just a reminder:
- Please follow all posted speed limits and directional signs.
- Always prioritize pedestrian and road safety.
- Remember that riding on the Village Green or The Club Golf Course is prohibited.
- E-bike and electric vehicle use must comply with local ordinances.
Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and respectful for everyone!
Warmer Weather Means More Snakes: Stay Cautious
As the weather warms up, snake sightings are becoming more common. Although Safety Patrol Officers may assist with snake removal when available, their primary focus remains on overall community safety and response times may vary.
For faster assistance, residents can also contact:
- The Snake Wrangler at (619) 204-5117
